Snapshot — A new cross-media web product for Apple Services.

Working in a nimble designer duo, we created a completely new product that aggregates multiple media types and services into a singular light-weight experience.

The project involved designing content logic, a scaleable widget system, artwork automation, and collaboration with various product, design & engineering partners for thousands of artists, actors and athletes pages.

Challenge: Automating an editorial feel

Design were faced with the challenge of a product that generated profiles automatically with zero editorial or artwork intervention — yet needed to engage users in order to drive traffic to Apple Music, Podcasts and TV.
In order to establish an editorial page quality, I collaborated with art technology and engineering partners to create face detection and color matching logic to design immersive, magazine-like page headers that spotlight personalities.

A new design system for Apple on the web

In order to accomodate hundreds of cross-media content combinations, we designed, stress-tested and created a library for a responsive widget system that spotlighted every possible result from Music, TV, Sports and Podcasts.
Despite the experience simplicity on Snapshot pages, we defined complex business rules behind the scenes to ensure only the most relevant content populates.
